This is a Blackhawk Flat Top .44 mag, I believe it is a type II. This gun was manufactured in 1957 and it has a four digit S/N 4XX8. This Flat Top has been sold for $550.

As wwb said "all" products of Ruger that year were so marked. I used to have a new model super blackhawk from 76. Now I have the No 1 and a stainless security six from 76.
