Well I followed the above instructions that Chuck 100 yd wrote and I had no problems at all so I can easily live with the way this method works to load my Bisley. I want to thank everyone above for your assistance and I certainly will call Ruger to obtain a manual for this pistol.
1)Thanks! I'll try doing the above to see how it works out. Yes I do know what to do after step #5 above.
2)What had confused me was that because my Bisley was built on the large frame I had thought that it was gonna work like the older models with the hammer having that first stopping point...
This is a follow up on my first model bisley Vaquero because I originally had plans only to collect it....but now I have decided to shoot it.....
However I tried to load this pistol with some snap caps but I thought that the hammer was supposed to have a stop notch to allow turning the cylinder...
Contender:
I appreciate your taking the time to give me explicit technical information on all of the various models and their differences and everything as you have explained it above definately makes sense to me. Whenever I first bought my "Vaquero" I at least knew that it was beefier and...
Mike Armstrong:
Yes I like your terminology "First Model Bisley Vaquero" better than "Old Model Bisley" based upon your concise explanation for this...yet I must admit that since I'm somewhat of a "Greenhorn" whenever it comes to Single Action revolvers is the reason I had just applied the "Old...
I agree with you completely! I would like to find some more stainless low back's but these are almost never seen here in CA! Although about 6 years ago on a local forum a member in Stockton, CA had placed a classified ad selling a 2.75" low back Security-Six but I was tied up and couldn't get...
Yes I agree with you chet15. I figured that it probably wouldn't letter with the targets but since the gun had been buried in the back of my safe for quite awhile is why I needed to see it to determine what the serial number prefix was on it...thus once I verified that it had the 152 serial...
Ruger offered those grips on the 1985 Security Six from the factory. Back then I ordered a couple of sets of these before I ever had a 1985 Security Six just to have them on hand.
Oops you are right as I had mistakenly posted the 161 serial number prefix of the 1985 Security six-thus the correct serial number is 152-88209. Thanks for calling this to my attention! I have also corrected this error in my prior posting above.
I finally found the plum RDA34 Security Six in the back of my safe this morning and I found it to be a pre warning gun with a serial number of 152-88209 which places it in 1977.
