old army, new to black powder, Help needed!

When I shoot my Ruger stainless I do use black powder and don't use a wade. I put a dab of grease on the top of the round ball not to lube the bore or anything like that but to seal around the ball so as not to get any flash over into the cylinder creating a chain reaction in it when firing. I...

old army, new to black powder, Help needed!

If you have any black powder clubs in the area you may also want to contact them and have someone there help you. But the manual is the first place to start. I would also start with pyrodex black powder. It's not as volatile as regular black powder. There are a lot of loading techniques when...

    Picked up a new SR40C

I had a XDS and did not like it just to many issues and I sent it back to Springfield but still was not right. Traded it for a Sig 1911 compact 3 inch 45. Very nice 1911, I would buy the XDM and almost did except couldn't find one here locally. I like my 40C very well and glad I went that way...

    Picked up a new SR40C

You know I really think the word about the "goo" in the striker channel got back to Ruger at some point about 6 months ago. If you notice from the posts, I've heard no recent complaints about it from new guns which is great. I can't be sure, its just that the complaints about it seem to have...

    Picked up a new SR40C

That's great to hear about the 40C. I did strip the gun down and clean it initially very well including the striker assembly. Was surprised as it didn't have a large amount of excess grease or oil build up in it. I really like the grip and feel of this pistol. The sights seem a bit narrow at...

    Picked up a new SR40C

Have a picture of my first target with the new SR40C but guess I can't post it, must be not enough posts. Finally leaned how to use photobucket with the IPad.

    Picked up a new SR40C

Been looking at several 40 cal in a semi compact size. Looked at the S&W M&P 40 compact and the XD Sub-compact and the XDM 3.8 compact 40. Like the look of the M&P but the trigger was horrible. The XDM was very nice but their price is a bit high. So when I looked at the SR40C I was sold. Took...

    Sold my SR9c

The Springfield truck was at one of the gun shop/sporting goods store today. They had one of the new XD45 sub-compact single stack for display. That just feels so good in the hand and I think it's going to be a hot seller. Distributor said they should be shipping those out at the end of May.

    Sold my SR9c

I took mine out to the range again today and at 15 yards it shot the center ring out. I have no complaints with it and my hands are not large but it fits good in my hands. Try the XD line, they also feel pretty good.

    No More SR1911?

My SR1911 is my favorite hand gun. I really believe the only problem with not having them in the gun stores is there to dang popular and in such high demand. Ruger stuck a home run with this one. :D

    No More SR1911?

Few weeks back a local gun shop got in 12 of them and within a few days only had 2 left. I got lucky and bought one of the last two. I think the real issue is keeping up with demand. After taking my new SR1911 out I can see why it's in such a huge demand. This is a great pistol and love the...
