Me and Blackie have become one!!

My bride gave me a 50th Anniversary for our 50th anniversary a few years ago. I may have been lucky(with both wife and revolver) but mine is fit and finished as well as any model 29 ever made. When they were introduced, we were in college and too poor to pay attention. It does need custom...

    MINI 14 Magazines

It has been a few years, but my CDNN purchased Mini-14 mags are Ruger marked and packaged. Ruger may use a subcontractor, but mine all work. Jack

Modern Guns do not shoot cast bullets !

My 38/357 are all older S&W, but they all love 148 wadcutters. Both my 44s are Rugers and they are 12 and about 7 years old. Once upon a time I bought a box of 1000 hard Keith type 240 grain bullets. Both the Magnum and Special love them over moderate charges of Unique. Happy, happy. Jack

Need taller SP101 front sight (two different guns).

The spec sheet says "pinned replaceable front sight." Surely they have a taller front sight available. Give Ruger a call. I have found their receptionists most helpful. Jack

Modern Guns do not shoot cast bullets !

I don't have a LCR, but my two Ruger .44s, a 50th .44 Magnum Anniversary and a SS FT ..44 Special are both on a diet of hard cast 240 grain Keith Type bullets. They both like them just fine. My S&W snub noses get wadcutters for practice and they do not object. Jack

    Mark II for Bullseye

I have both. I like the bull barrel better. Jack

    MK II Lifespan

I have Dad's Mk I long barrel target that I helped him pick out used in 1960-61. Dad carried on a war with geese and crows destroying his crops for about Fifty years. I have no idea how many 9 or 10 shot strings that he cut loose on the invaders. The finish is all but gone, the Micro rear...

Got my new Mini 14 ranch rifle today

CDNN usually has factory fresh magazines, also at reasonable prices. I have bought both Five and Twenty round Ruger mags from them. For day to day use, I like the fives better. Jack

    Walnut stock 10/22

My Sporter is about eleven years old and it is birch. Jack

    MK II Lifespan

I have Dad's MkI that I helped him pick out used in about '60-61. It rode in a rug under the seat of his farm truck almost to the end, ten years ago. He shot thousands of rounds through it chasing either Ravens or geese away from his crops, usually ten rounds at a time. Finish is mostly gone...

    CDNN

Buy the Ruger factory magazines from them. I have only bought Colt .45,,1911 mags from them. Advertised as by Chip McCormick. Delivered in C McC factory packaging and so marked on the magazines. The real deal as advertised. As to their pricing, they buy a lot of factory over runs at good...

How bad are Scope Mount Holes on Early Flat top 44?...

IMO, You have done good - real good! Jack

    Accurate .22 Single Action

Both of my Mk I pistols are more accurate than any revolver that I have ever owned, including the S&W Model 17 and the Colt Diamondback. My Bearcat, loaded with Yellow Jackets, seems to be accurate, but the size and light weight do not make it easy to shoot. With a good rest, which helps...

    Warne Quick Detach Ring Opinions

As indicated above, I have found that Ruger rings and most rings that fit Weaver style bases do a pretty good job of returning to zero provided no other changes are made. The lever makes it easier, but a quarter coin tight is usually good enough, so I try to make sure I have a couple of...

    SP101 trigger ?

Never had a Ruger DA, but lots of Smiths and Ruger SA respond nicely to a tiny strip of 1000 grit wet/dry paper slipped between the hammer and trigger. Insert, pull, a few times then reverse so the fine abrasive is on the other piece. If I break them apart, sometimes the sides of triggers...
