LCRX 357 magnum with 3 inch barrel .. Finally rolls out

It is interesting how the specs continue to creep on the "lightweight" firearms. The original LCR in .38 weighs in at 13.5 oz and the new .357 3" is 21.3 ounces. That's nearly 1/2 pound! I own two LCRs in .38, one 3of them in 3", and they are my go to carry and woods guns. Having said that, I...

    LCR

I agree with Gramps, even the small stainless revolvers seem to drag after a while. If Ruger comes out with a LCRX3 in .357 I would think that it would weigh close to 20 oz. since the regular LCR in .357 weighs 17.1 oz. That is getting close to what my S&W Model 60 3" in .357 weighs in at 24...

    cci quiet rounds?

I have read on the Rimfire Central website that some guys have modified the 10/22 to shoot these. Just for the heck of it, I ran some through my Remington 552 and they cycled about 96% of the time. The 552 is marketed as a .22 auto that will cycle shorts, longs, and long rifles.

    LCR, which to purchase?

I had an LCR in 38 and recently replaced it with the LCRx with the hammer. I need the flexibility to shoot shot shells. So I carry it with the first two chambers loaded with a CCI shot shell during snake season. I seem to encounter more rattlesnakes than bad guy. The exposed hammer enables...

Ruger American Rifles in 223 Why only Ranch rifle in 5.56 ?

I have a Model 77 in .223 that I bought in 1998. It is fairly accurate, scoped with a 3x9 VXII and has a 1-12 twist. Recently, I bought a American Ranch in .5.56 put a 1x4 Leopold scope on it. The thinking was that it would be a shorter range truck gun with lesser accuracy. Well, I was...

RAR Ranch, anyone have one yet?

I bought one at Cabelas back in January and really like it. Put a Leupold Hog scope on it. The 1x4 magnification is plenty and the smaller, shorter scope just looks right on this rifle. I plan to use the rifle for coyotes, not hogs but the concept for this scope design still applies. It seems...

    Ruger American Ranch

Bill, Great article! Thanks so much it really explains things well and now I will be forced to buy one of these rifles. My interest is similar to that of others on this thread, I need a short, more handy rifle for quick access on either an ATV or from a truck. Those coyotes are quick!

    Ruger American Ranch

That looks like a really fun rifle and I think that I want one. Presently, I own a Mark II in .223 in stainless with the boat paddle stock. Do any of you know what I will give up in velocity from my Mark II with a 22 inch barrel going to the 16 inch?

    Any LCR owners here?

I have an LCR in 38 spec and carry it almost everyday, I really like it. Have been considering one with a hammer now, and is sounds like those of you that have them have seen an increase in accuracy when using it in single action mode? Also, has anyone heard anything about Ruger bringing out...

    Best Woods Gun?

Here is the published load from the Hodgdon site. I couldn't believe it either until I looked it up. 355 GR. BTB LFN GC Hodgdon H110 .430" 1.710" 17.5 1168 29,300 CUP 18.8 1245 38,000 CUP I have several .44 mags and .45 colts. I almost never shoot the .45s anymore, no real reason...

Mk III bolt won't lock back after last shot

Unfortunately, I have had the same problem on my MarkIII Hunter. It occurs about every 500 to 700 rounds. After replacing the bolt stop gizmo three times, I sent it into Ruger (twice now). My 20 year old MarkII has never had the problem and I always use the slingshot method as recommended...
