How do you ID the type of wood used for a 10-22 stock.

I believe the DSP (Deluxe Sporter) models have always been walnut. Jim

    GP 100 Grips

Mine came with the finger groove Hogue grips which are too large for my somewhat small hands. I replaced them with the old style Ruger smooth rubber with rosewood inserts grips. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I find the Hogue grips to be ugly and really like the looks of the old...

    Seekjng a .22 SP101

Mine is an 8 shot made in 2014 that came with the smooth rubber grips with the nice Ruger wood inserts. I noticed some different grips on the ones in the photos. Are they replacement grips or did Ruger produce the model with different grips from the factory? Jim

    Can't find a Mark IV I like.

I has been interesting reading the differing thoughts and personal tastes we all have. No doubt, that is why Ruger makes the various models. As for me, as soon as I saw the Target model, I knew that was the one for me. It has performed quire well. I did have the Volquartsen trigger...

    Ruger MK IV

Purchased my Mark IV Target a little over a year ago and have a little over 2,000 rounds through it. The gun cycles flawlessly with mini-mags, not so much with various other ammo that I have tried. I have long believed that poor shooters blame their guns and resisted making any modifications...

    MKI and MKIV differences

I was thinking that the frame on the target model is a steel alloy. I just checked my Mark IV Target and the frame is ferromagnetic, but I have no idea exactly what its composition is. Does anyone know what stainless formulation Ruger is using? Jim

    Took the plunge…

I have the same model with about 2000 rounds through it and love it. Just checked and my serial no. is post recall, but I do occasionally need to tighten the front lug screw, which is not a problem at all. Jim

Maybe some relief on 22 ammo price/availability?

.22 ammo supplies seems to have returned to both local (Central N.C.) and online sources. Prices have come down a good bit but aren't near pre-pandemic levels. The problem I have with buying ammo at Walmart is that in order to do so, you have to go to Walmart :) Jim

Mark 4 not feeding all the time.

Contender makes a good point about ammo. I have a few thousand rounds through my Mark IV stainless Target model and have learned that I can turn the problem on and off simply by the ammo that I use (all of which is HV). My gun likes mini-mags for whatever reason. Jim

Thinking about getting an automatic knife-need suggestions

I have many and unfortunately availability today be spotty. There are numerous good websites and numerous bad ones. I have no affiliation with any, Blade hq has served me well. My recommendation is to look through the sites for what you want and availability. Any questions regarding the...

    Mark II vs. Mark IV

One obvious advantage of the Mark IVs os that you can buy them new. Unless you get really lucky, any previous version will be used. Jim
