Well tearing it completely down may not be necessary but I feel as though I am able to get in there and clean it a little better then when the two stay assembled.

No not at all. I paid $360 for it. It was a little more than a standard blue model and was less then the stainless. I was originally going to go with the stainless model, but once I saw this one I had to have it.
Well after months of patiently waiting and drooling the local gunshop had a black friday sale and I finally made my purchase. I took it out today and ran 100 rounds through it and fell instantly in love. The groups were tight and not a single issue. I can't wait to shoot it more and more.
I have the pierce extension grip on my lcp as well as the ruger extension grip and love them both. Not a whole lot of difference between the two. I get three fingers around the grip of the gun now and it makes it feel much more comfortable. Hope this helps.
