ruger LCP .... yet another question

Automatic slide locks can be problematic. I've had a couple pocket pistols with slide locks, and both have engaged when there were rounds left in the gun. I corrected the problem, but it can happen. For my money, the LCP is the most reliable of the pocket rockets. Moon

    LCP safety?

Lennie, the point and shoot may have some merit; at up close and personal range it is likely the way to go. I do prefer having sights I can actually see; one of the reasons I bought my problematic Kahr .380 was the great sights. What you can do with your gun (is it blued?) is punch and drill a...

How to get Pearce Grips for the Ruger LCP? Not that easy..

That sounds most un-Brownells like. Their customer service is normally first rate. Moon

    LCP safety?

Lennie, I had to return my P380 to Kahr for work, and it cost $50 just for shipping (MY $50), so Ruger and most other companies would rather send you parts for a start. Let us know how the install goes. I have never detail stripped the slide on my gun. Moon

    LCP safety?

I recall some offbrand revo that had a manual safety, but they are not common nor are they needed. Lennie, where is the crack in your extractor? As regards reliability, a bunch of guys at our club have 'em, and they all work, even on reloads. The LCP has a titanium firing pin so that a muzzle...

    Yet Another LC9 Review

How was the recoil and the ergonomics? I had the KelTec equivalent of this gun, and it always caught me on the thumb joint to the point I needed a bicycle glove to shoot it. It may be a factor of hand size and shape, but the guy I sold it to complains about the same thing. Yes, I did tell him...

    Picked up an LCP yesterday

I'll pipe in with my own opinion here; get an Alabama Holster kydex pocket rig. Rather than trying to make the gun look like a wallet, the smooth outer face blends in so that there really doesn't look like there is anything there in particular. The gun draws cleanly (there are several ways to...

    PC 9 Lower Receiver assembly

blume, thank you so much for your trouble. I think I see what is going on. The older trigger springs had bent legs, and I think they went under the recoil block, while the newer ones have straight legs that (I hope) go against the front side of the recoil block. That is the thing I'm most...

    PC 9 Lower Receiver assembly

I'm not sure 'impossible' is the word, but it is complicated, with all sorts of springs and levers I've never seen in anything else. They go together like one of those Chinese puzzles you may have had as a child; find the perfect alignment, and it slips right into place. Having run some checks...

    PC 9 Lower Receiver assembly

Okay, the crap continues. I called Ruger today to see if they had a replacement cap screw to secure the rear sight. Nope, not a one. It appears to be gunsmith's thread, even finer than National Fine. After ten minutes at the hardware, I resorted to a 6-32 cap screw and corresponding tap...

    PC 9 Lower Receiver assembly

Nate, maybe you can answer one question. The spring with two legs and a loop (trigger spring,G02201); it goes around the aluminum trigger spring support (G0300). Do the two legs go against the recoil block (G00703), and the loop end over the tab that sticks out of the back of the trigger...

    PC 9 Lower Receiver assembly

Okay, after a couple days thinking and analyzing, I believe I have the thing put back together. Anyone have any safety checks (like the ones for an AR), to make sure all is functioning correctly? I have racked the bolt, dry fired, and racked the bolt again while holding the trigger to the rear...

    PC 9 Lower Receiver assembly

Not a stupid question, but I suggest you pull the manual up and have a look. It shows the parts, has numbers and names, and a vague notion of relative positions. However, they have to be assembled in some particular order, and in some specific relationship. Most of that cannot be deduced from...

    PC 9 Lower Receiver assembly

Classic case of a 5 minute job gone straight to hell. I removed the tang sight from my PC9, only to discover that one of the cap screws holding it to the recoil block was broken off in the block. Long story short, I ended up removing the recoil block from the stock and now cannot reassemble...

    Newbie to LCP

When you charge the first round, work the gun like you are trying to break it; that is to say, pull the slide ALL the way to the rear and TOTALLY release it, as vigorously as you can. Don't ride the slide as it goes forward. WWB feeds about as smoothly as anything in existence, so you...
