I have used more RCBS then Lee but like them both. RCBS seems to be mighty friendly when it comes to issues with their products. Just called last week and told them about a problem with the first die I ever bought - a 1972 30-06 full length sizing die. They had me send it back to either...
I never thought that I would ever load for the .380, but as everyone knows bullets were almost impossible to find a couple of years ago. I bought some 100 grain plated projectiles from Berry Manufacturing and have now reloaded many hundreds of these for range work. Coincidently, a friend...
I have a Ruger 44 magnum carbine appoximately 66-67 vintage. Have had trouble with rounds feeding into the chamber after firing. Have discovered that there is a cartridge deflector plate missing. Does anyone have an idea on where I can get one?
Thanks,
I have friend that is having light hits from the firing pin on his 10/22. The gun is clean and is approximately 12 years old. Have not had any problems with this gun until the last couple of months. The shell casings show a very light indentation and today after firing 40 rounds about 6 did...
Reading the Lyman scale instructions it says:
"Set the assembled scale on a secure level surface free from drafts or vibration. Move both poise (balance weights) to the "zero" position and adjust the leveling screw under the left end of the base casting until the beam pointer rests on "zero"...
can you place a "known" weight in the pan and see what it shows as a weight. That will show you what to add or subtract on your pan to make it zero. Assuming you are on a level surface and have adjusted the feet up or down to zero it. I have one scale that actually requires that weight...
A friend of mine gave me some powder recently that was in the 50-60 year old range. Bullseye, Unique and some IMR 4320. The bullseye was loaded in some 380 ACP cases and I could not tell the difference between the old and new. It was in one of the old square cans marked $3.00 and I would...
I have used the RCBS case lube with a case lube pad for 35 years. Seems like the stuff lasts forever. I did try some Lee case lube one time and haven't used it since. It didn't seem to have the same lubrication properties that I was accustomed to with the RCBS.
Maybe I didn't properly explain.
After loading the carbine and chambering the round, the weapon fires, the round ejects and the next round from the tubular magazine goes up but not into the chamber. The lifting mechanism that sends the round up stays up and I have to manually push the...
I have a Ruger 44 mag carbine which when firing, the shell in the tubular magazine goes up but does not chamber. The platform which raises the round up from the tubular magazine doesn't drop back down on it's own accord. I have to press it down and then the bolt will travel forward and the...
