Just put new transfer bar in Vaquero

No. Not to big on the idea of shooting a gun that does not appear to be in time proper or functioning properly

Just put new transfer bar in Vaquero

A few weeks ago, my transfer bar just up and broke in two in the gun while firing. I understand it can occasionally happen. I called Ruger and they gladly sent me a new one for free. I just took the gun apart, inserted it and the action seems to work...but the hammer does not seem to quite...

    Is the .357 Magnum obsolete?

Even the .40 S&W is an intermediary round that is beginning to retard as police and citizens drift back to 9mm. 9mm and .45 ACP have made vast improvements over the past few decades. The .357 magnum has gone well beyond the LSWC 158 gr bullet that it originally fired. The hotter and faster...

    Is the .357 Magnum obsolete?

people can be on the firing line shooting 9mms, .38 Spl., .40S&W and .45 ACP and people just talk and chat away. Somebody fires off a .357 Magnum on the line and all talking stops and everyone instinctively takes a step back....any Magnum gun will get your attention with the noise, shockwave...

    Is the .357 Magnum obsolete?

No way is it obsolete! The Revolver is just as relevant as it was 80 years ago. Semi-Automatics and even High Capacity Semi-Automatics are nothing new. Six For Sure and the powerful .357 Magnum are still top notch.

Ruger vaquero cylinder throat too tight

I just have to ask: why did Ruger design it this way? It’s the incorrect size. Too small for the .45 caliber bullet and is potentially dangerous

Ruger vaquero cylinder throat too tight

I just put a Speer LSWC 250 bullet into my cylinder and i could not push it put at the throat. It wasn’t even thinking about budging as I pushed on it with the cylinder pin. Manual Speer # lists it as .452. My caliper says the same, I’ve been shooting these pretty frequently through my...

How hot do you jack up your .44 Mag Super Blackhawk

Why then does Buffalo Bore not rate the M29 for their +P+? In fact they threaten to discontinue if peoplr fo not heed their warnings and only use them in guns rated for said load.

How hot do you jack up your .44 Mag Super Blackhawk

Is a beefier stronger gun than S&W model 29. Buffalo Bore rates it for their +p+ .44 magnum. I have loaded Ruger T/C loads in my Super Blackhawk

Why are Ruger revolvers so fragile? (Yes I said it)

The loading gate spring looks okay. What I DO see happening on closer inspection is that the hammer is NOT coming down completely when "fired". The firing pin does come through and might strike the cartridge, but I noticed there is a very slight gap in between the hammer and frame when hammer...

Why are Ruger revolvers so fragile? (Yes I said it)

This just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I took the frame to a local gunsmith to see if he could get the plunger out. He tapped on it a little and it wouldn't budge. I got it back home, toyed with an idea. I got plyers and a spent 9mm brass shell. crushed it to where I could cover the...

Why are Ruger revolvers so fragile? (Yes I said it)

If there is one thing I've been doing consistently, it's lubing this plunger hole before and after it got jammed. Break Free CLP. Get a bigger hammer? I am not even a using a hammer. All I've been doing is GENTLY using a punch and tapping (with no hammer)

Why are Ruger revolvers so fragile? (Yes I said it)

Now I've got the cylinder latch plunger (part 25) stuck in the frame.
