Call/write Ruger with serial number ask for records of repair/replacement cylinder may show if Ruger made second cylinder or aftermarket gunsmith and if Ruger why it was done.

The "357" package looks like transfer bar hammer and trigger, not old model parts. Hammer is "stepped", trigger has extension for transfer bar. Black Dog.

Thanks for the info. I ordered the LCRx 3 in grips directly from Hogue. They were $26.95 vs. $29.95 from Ruger (out of stock). Go figure. Black Dog

Will Ruger sell the 3 in LCRx grips separately? I would like to do what the OP did, put those grips on my 23/8 LCR 38 special. Black Dog

I have the original 1 7/8 inchLCR .38 special +P but find the Hogue Tamer grip too short. I wonder if the longer Hogue Tamer grip on this 3 inch LCRx model would fit the grip peg on my gun and if so whether it could be purchased separately from Ruger? Black Dog
