    Guns from a fire question

Glock pistols are made of a specially formulated Nylon 6 polymer. Type 6 Nylon melts at about 410 degrees F. According to Glock, their reinforced nylon 6 is serviceable to 200 C. (392 F)

I'm not familiar with this PM procedure, but on some other forums there is a Subject line. The PM will not be forwarded if it does not include the subject. I've also had situations where the recipient was traveling and wasn't checking his emails.

Restore or not? 1953 Ruger Standard Model

I have a standard RST-4 made in 1953 with tapered bolt ears and the flat on the bottom. I also have a Mark I, T-678 made in 1953 with tapered bolt ears and the flat on the top. I have seen more Korean War-era guns with the flat on top listed for sale than with the flat on the bottom...

    1953 Standard

Earlier this year, I found a 1953 Standard RST-4 having tapered bolt ears with the flat on the bottom.

    Mark I T-514..........

Two questions about your latest find: is the 2-piece tapered ear bolt flat on the top or bottom? Does the muzzle break require a federal permit?

what is the rarist gun youve ever shot?

Custom-made 16 ga. Marlin Model Skeet King. Ole Horsrud, the inventer of the Model 90 (Patent No. 2,376,358) had it made as a gift for his friend. Marlin only sold the M90 Skeet King by special order in 1939 and 1940. I bought the gun at a Farm Estate Sale held in North Dakota in 2008.

    RST4 Made in 1953–Value?

There are two RST4’s with tapered bolt ears made in 1952 and 1953 that are listed for $425 and $450 on Gunbroker. I knew that is way too high. Since over 30,000 with tapered bolt ears were sold, I doubted that they would be considered collectibles.

    RST4 Made in 1953–Value?

I saw a Ruger RST4, Serial No. 53XXX (1953) est. to be in 70-80% condition at a local gun shop. Tapered bolt ears with the flat on top. Curious what it might be worth. Asking price is $250 but dealer would let it go for $225.

New to Me Ruger Mark III 22/45 Hunter

I did dry fire the one with the Volquartsen trigger in the gun store (using a snap cap) and I can appreciate why some owners would want to do the conversion.

New to Me Ruger Mark III 22/45 Hunter

I paid $281 plus $45 shipping and transfer fee for mine. I am not sufficiently skilled mechanically to be able to install a Volquartsen trigger kit costing $115. Maybe I should have bought the used Mark III 22/45 Target (P678MKIII) with a Volquartsen trigger for $350 that is for sale at a...

New to Me Ruger Mark III 22/45 Hunter

Just picked up this Ruger Mark III 22/45 Hunter Target Model KP678HMKIII. I bought it because it is my first Mark III, first Hunter with a 6-7/8" fluted barrel, and it has a relatively early 3-digit serial number (270-004xx). Plus, I think it is a really cool looking gun.

Thanks. I checked on line, and the price of the VQ trigger kit at Midway USA is $109.

Ruger Mark III 22/45 with Extras.

Saw a very nice blued Ruger Mark III 22/45, 5-1/2” bull barrel with a Ruger scope rail, box and two magazines at a local gun shop. The previous owner installed a Volquartsen trigger. 273-92xxx serial number. Asking price is $350. So, what do you think, is that a good deal or not? If not, what...

    "New" Ruger Mark II

Stopped by the local gun store today and saw a nice Ruger Mark III, 22/45 bull barrel with scope rail, box and two magazines for $350. What is the consensus, a good deal or not?
