Shootout at the saloon in "Unforgiven".

The entire premise of this thread is faulty. I just carefully watched the shootout in question on my DVD copy, and I count a grand total of 5 shots fired from Munny's borrowed Schofield in the bar, plus the one shotgun blast that made sure Skinny never saw another sunrise and the final round...

    Ruger LCP-2

I have to admit that my previous comments about it on this thread notwithstanding....I currently have my own LCP II in my pocket as I write this. I don't know what to say. I shot a handful of early LCPs and found their triggers to be nothing short of horrendous. When this new LCP II came out...

First time out LCPII range report.

Uh, yeah. "Metal case" has always simply meant "not polymer case" in my mind. What's the issue? Are you confusing the word "metal" with the word "steel?" Because I assure you that Remington-UMC bulk pack pistol cartridges are made from brass. Which is both a metal AND not steel.

    Ruger American Pistol 9mm Compact

Wow....IF that's true (and that's a big if), the entire concept of the RAP is dead to me, and I will be selling my full size shortly. I cannot fathom that Ruger could be that stupid, though I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by anything they do these days. The entire idea behind this gun was...

    Ruger LCP-2

Whew! Thank god it has serrations on the front of the slide; otherwise, how would I perform uber-tacticool press checks with my pocket .380 that's the size of a deck of cards?

    Ruger American Pistol 9mm Compact

You might be right (and I hope you are), but so far all the photos I've seen of the new compact RAP 9 have been with manual safety. I've only seen the original full sized RAPs (like mine) without, but again I'm hoping you're correct and that the compact can also be had either way. EDIT...

    Ruger American Pistol 9mm Compact

Well done, Ruger! Now, I'll just need one of those compact grip shells for my full size RAP9, and could you make it without the manual safety please? Well, and I should probably pick up a new compact upper as well. Hoping those will be for sale (by themselves) soon....After all, if you're...

Ruger standard at the Springfield Armory

Had to chuckle a bit at "copying design and balance from German Luger..." About the only design elements it copies from the Luger is that both have barrels and removable magazines. Ruger's pistol is much more a copy of a Japanese Baby Nambu than a Luger.

Rugers Mark l - ll - lll Disassembly

I chose "have had no problems" because I haven't, BUT...the question is a bit of a trick; it's sort of 3 different questions. You really shouldn't lump all Standards/MKIs, MKIIs, and MKIIIs into one big group and ask if "they" are difficult to disassemble or not. I have only ever owned (and...

    New Bearcat Shopkeeper now blued

Oh man, now I'm glad I held off on the first shopkeeper run. I'd like this version a whole lot more! :D

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

Of course. It's just a copy of the Glock trigger safety, a pivoting blade that interfaces with the frame and ensures the trigger can only be pulled if the pressure is applied to the front face of the trigger. It really only helps keep the weapon from discharging in the event that the sides of...

    My ugly SR1911

Those grips remind me of Esmerelda's. Did she make them?

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

What Ruger is calling a "striker blocker" isn't what you and I would usually think of. The RAP has no interrupted striker with vertical block ala Glock, Sig, etc. They're talking about the redundant sear in the fire control group within the frame. If you watch the youtube video of the guy who...

SR1911 COMMANDER MARINE CORP FOUNDATION 1 OF 100 KNIFE TALO!

OP, your description indicates the frame is stainless with a black DLC surface treatment. However, the ad text in the picture states these guns are "lightweight," which indicates an aluminum frame that is black anodized. Which is correct?

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

I'm a bit surprised that this is still surprising for some folks. Glocks have been on the market since the early 80s, and this "issue" has existed at least since then. It's really not a problem, it just saves time. I've never had the need to insert a loaded magazine into my slide-locked...
