Kill a Sasquatch?

Aside from it being illegal to kill one in Florida (truth there) I definitely would feel threatened enough by a 7 foot+ ape creature to dispatch it.

The repercussions are great. The animal lovers will persecute, hound, and litigate you but the benefits?

World wide fame and being renowned for finally putting the subject to rest, not to mention the potential monetary gain :-)

So, what say you folks? What would you take, persecution, fame or just another crackpot report of a mythical beast?

Exactly. Anything in the Homo- genus would probably pass muster as a human person. No one knows of other mammals or primates that ever walked fully upright than those in our genus.

With Idaho being a red state I guess someone who "identifies" as a Sasquatch would not play out well? :)

The most likely reason for the law’s concerning killing one, the 99.9% chance it’s a dude in a costume.

A true (?) Susuatch story. I have a friend who at the time of the incident had a full beard and was about the hairiest human I've ever seen. WE were doing an elk hunt and had permission to camp inside this old barn up in the John Day region of Oregon. When we got to the camp this couple had gotten there ahead of us and told us we were trespassing. WEll, we knew otherwise and the dude was rather threatening with his rifle in the process of telling up to move on. We snuck up and checked and found he'd left his wife alone in the barn to watch their stuff while he hunted. My hairy friend said he'd fix them.
Along abpout two in the morning he striped down totally nekkid got fairly close to the barn. He signaled he was ready and let out a horrible scream like yell and ran through the barn door and out the back door of the barn. I'm betting neither slept too well the rest off that night. They packed up and stpped by our camp to ask if we'd heard anything last night? WE denied and noises of course when they then told us a Bigfoot had run through the barm and scared my wife half to death. We had one hell of a time keeping from laughing until they were well down the road. The area where we were hunting was know to be a Bigfoot area but we never saw anything, not hide nor hair.
The only other interesting fact about that hunt is that was 1975, and it was the very first time I hunted with a Ruger #1B in .300 Win. Mag. I had a bull tag and all I saw was cows. Typical elk hunt for me back then.

If Bigfoot were truly real, I'd suspect many would have been killed since America is guns aplenty! But I wonder how many innocent tourists and hikers are buried in the woods and back country due to mistaken identity and an itchy trigger finger??

If we are attacked and our life threatened. We can all defend ourselves. The post is if killing a bigfoot is a problem. Not if we are defending ourselves, it doesn't matter if human or animal. The problem with shooting something you just see, not threatening you and you think is bigfoot.
It will be a human in costume or a bear or some other animal. Yep, that will be a problem.
