I understand that the members of this forum have some serious experience. But are we all in Toledo Ohio?

Nowadays I can relate to General Sterwood taking to Marlow in the Greenhouse during the opening of The Big Sleep. My sleep is that close to waking. Should I include the opening of The Big Sleep, or are we all familiar with it?

WTH?

Denver had some good songs.....Country Roads was actually written about Clopper Road in Montgomery County MD (Deer strike alley)....and the diehard Gaithersburg types will let you know that in almost every discussion you have with them. Annoying.

Folks that didn't care for his music say his greatest hit was Monterey Bay in 1997.....

Don't get me wrong.... I think John Denver was a great singer and I enjoyed what he did... but that one that is linked by the OP is pretty bad and I presume a joke just like the one I posted.... You are right XUSNOrdie ... Country Roads is an American Treasure....

Since most experienced posts and posters after 2200 are scarce, I thought that many members were of the age that Humphrey Bogie would be commonly recognized more than John Denver. Yet rolling up the sidewalks precisely at 10 seemed apropos. I'm sure there are other members that can relate to General Sterwood's description of sleep at advanced age. Since most posts are directed at John Denver, guess Bogie films like The Big Sleep, Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, and We are no angels aren't as popular as they once were. Guess I really am getting Old? But perhaps John Denver has a larger following than I expected?

Im 49

I don't know a damn thing about Humphrey or General Sterwood.

And besides Country Road, I don't think I could name a John Denver song.

Now Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, Metallica, AC-DC, thats a different story

OP edited his original post too so ….. doubly hard to form an opinion.
I don’t remember what it said but didn’t quite understand it.

Back in the day I was a real John Denver fan and owned every one of his record albums. Maybe some of my enjoyment of his music was that I was living in Denver when he first became big and songs like "Rocky Mountain High" were catchy tunes.
