I was about to do that when I made one last call to my actual LGS that I know has not had one in a few weeks. When I finally got through to firearms (they are usually so busy they don't answer the phone) I asked "I know you don't have one, but do you have any idea when you might get a Ruger 1911 in?" I was SHOCKED to hear him say "We got one in about an hour ago."

Vances?

"Mine" is at my FFL which is closed until Tuesday but I paid a KP97DC plus $200 to get mine from the factory. Ruger couldn't fix my 97 so they said I could pick another 45 cal gun BUT if I wanted a 1911 I had to pay extra.

So not real sure how to price that but I sold a P97 a few months ago for 425 so I guess I paid $625.00 sorta.

Paid $699 + $10 background check from the LGS near me. I stopped in to one place first and they had a full size for the same price. I almost bought that one so I'd still have the full size since my wife decided she liked my full size SR1911 and wanted to carry that instead of her M&P Shield. But we decided to go to the other place and it turned out as we came in I spotted the Commander SR1911 on the wall. I didn't hesitate. I told them I'd take it. About a 15 minute wait while the paperwork and background check were done and we were on our way.

Took it out shooting a little later after cleaning and lubing it up. It is sweet. I love it already.

First place, the only place i saw SR1911's for the first year were online..I started to see them and was in one of the LGS friday and he's still got his marked for 899.00 He had five and now he's down to one. I paid 699.00 for mine.I've seen on another forum someone pay 549.00 and that was awhile back and that just made me sick to hear that.I think there has been a couple i've seen lately that have been 609.00 to 619 and thats just amazing because i think they are pretty sweet guns and a bargain.

As they should be ... It's always been a $600 gun when compared to equivalent guns in the marketplace. I said that from the day they were released, when everybody who paid $800 and $899 proclaimed loudly that it was worth even more than the $800 MSRP. Initial scarcity doesn't make it worth more in the long run, it just makes people pay unrealistic prices during the panic of the initial release, and during the initial shortages. As is being witnessed by current prices being far more realistic ... And totally in line with an honest assessment of the gun compared to others in the marketplace. Actually ... Right at 75% of MSRP, which has traditionally been the selling street price of almost every Ruger product for the last 20 years or so.

Everybody said the same thing about the LCP's when they first came out years ago and were selling by those who could get them for $400-500 to those who couldn't get them. Those who paid the ridiculous prices proclaimed loudly .... 'You'll NEVER see these guns go for less than $500 ... EVER .... so you better just buy one RIGHT NOW if you can find one !!' LOL ....

LCP's have been $279 or thereabout brand new for the last 5+ years .... Just what they're worth, and have always been worth. Hmmmmm ... Right about 74% of the MSRP of $379 ..... How coincidental .....

Just got one yesterday from the Sportstmans Den in Quincy, Ma for $675.00 including all taxes and fees. My dealer got it straight from the factory and I was there 1/2 hour after the fedex guy delivered it. He has another new one for $625.00 plus tax if anyone is local and looking for one.
