SR1911 Rust Issue?

Well, to answer my own question I took apart my SR1911 which was test-fired by Ruger in January 2013 (25 months ago) and which I am the second owner. The Q-tip shows how much I was able to clean out of the mag release button body (plus a little more on a final swab). I cleaned off all the parts with CLP and re-assembled everything. The gunk looks reddish-brown to me. I can't swear that it is rust but it doesn't look like something that belongs where I found it.

It looks like normal gunk the original owner should have cleaned out of it before he shot it the 1st time.
