Ruger No. 1 questions

I'm looking to get my first No. 1. I've had some trouble coming across one. What's a place besides your typical websites (gunbroker, guns international etc.) you'd recommend looking? Been trying to find a 25-06 or 257 and have not had much luck. Thanks guys!

I would trade several nice guns for a #1A in 3006 or 243. I had a red pad 243 that was very accurate and took several deer. Miss the simplicity.

im in NY deer hunting and stopped into Freeman gun shop in Akron NY. there a red pad 25-06 for sale. bull barrel. nice shape too. ask for Mike. NDITH. good luck...FNC

Friend of mine has a Ruger No. 1 which is the "international type" with full length forearm (action to muzzle) in caliber 257 Roberts. We shoot together couple times a week and will do so this coming Thursday and get you some more details. He mentioned to me last week that he was going to sell it and I know he rarely shoots his collection of No. 1 rifles.

no love for a 1A in 270?

Not set up to reload 270 like I am 3006 and 243. 1A stock fits me good. My 243 had a 44mm Simmon AETEC scope on it. Damn impressive accuracy with 100gr Nosler Partitions right at 3000fps and Nosler 55gr Ballistic tips at 3965fps using Varget.

1A stock fits me good.

All the butt stocks are the same dimensionally - pull drop etc. The difference between models comes in the forestocks, barrel profiles and sights.

I have six #1 rifles in calibers from .35 Whelen to .458 Lott (the others are .375 H&H, .405 Winchester, .416 Rigby, and .45-70). I am thinking about adding a small bore rifle; I have my eye out for a nice example in .338 Winchester Magnum. One in .450-.400 nitro-express has tempted me a couple times though.

I've wanted a #1, or #3 in 45-70 since forever and some how every time I see one that I want, something else that wants access to my bank account pops up.
