I saw one recently with the grey bead blasted finish and I did a double take. Anyone know if many were made or was this a custom?

I'm not sure they made a regular Redhawk in that "target gray" or matte finish.

They did make some with the top machined to accept scope rings though.

Was it a 5.5 or 7.5 inch barrel?

The Ruger serial lookup page unfortunately doesn't go into any detail on finish, barrel options or quantity made :-(

The barrel is the curious part, I've seen .44 RH with them though very few but never a .41.

With them what?
Bead blasted finish or cut for scope rings?
What year does the s/n say its was made?
Got a pic?

Yep, cut for scope rings normal …. Bead blast finish likely a Bubba job.
