Here's the Real Deal, A 1961 Ruger Single Six in 4 5/8, It's a VERY EARLY Convertible with that taped card board box around the 22 Mag cylinder, Its listed in Chad's book as them being found in this SER number range, 187XXX. comes complete with a nice box, 1959 owner's manual, guarantee card and the hanging tag still on the GUN!!!!

Yes, in the 187000 serial range ONLY TWO RSS4X guns are known with employee handmade boxes for the extra cylinder out of obsolete shipping sleeve cardboard and taped together JUST LIKE YOURS!

OK! I found another, but as usual, the elusive box is/was nowhere in sight........... I suggest that the RSS4 boxes with original RSS4 printing(not the over label variety) are as rare as the 10" 357 and 44 mag FT boxes.......... 8)

I think you are 100% correct. :lol: I had one and only one and it had the "Walnut Grips" sticker on the lable end of the box. Only mine was not a convertible. These guns deserve more credit then they get.

Have never owned a 10" 357 box but I have 1 10" 44 box and 2 RSS4 boxes......

I say the 357 box may be a bit harder to find since everyone in the world knows it is valuable....RR.
