I picked up this new model single six w/ 9 1/2" barrel. I knew it looked rough when I bid on it and was just looking for a shooter project. My first time taking one completely down and wasn't very hard to do. I notice the trigger spring only has one arm on it and thought it might have broke off. There was no piece inside and I looked closer and it looks like it was cut off with side cutters in an attempt to make a liter trigger pull. Is this common and safe? I watched Youtube video of poor mans trigger job where they just unhooked the spring from around the studs.? Any idea how much each of these actions would reduce trigger pull?

yes, it will "lighten" the trigger pull but its NOT the correct way to do it, simpler to put a slight bend in BOTH legs of the spring, keeps things 'balanced'..............
what the actual "felt" trigger pull, we have never bothered or tried to measure, if it feels good and WORKS , then so be it........
