At 95 cents an hour it would take you just over 9 days to save the money for this. If you saved every penny.
At todays prices and wages I could buy a couple of those with 9 days pay.
So in actuality , it was more expensive back then than it is now.
I paid $97.50 for a 6" Security Six in 1973 when I was an A1C (E-3) in the USAF stationed in the UP of Michigan. I think I was making about $300 per month. I sold it in 1989 for $250 to help finance my first GP100.
