Isn't that always the case. I had to scratch my itch by taking a Model 70 Classic sporter and having the barre replaced with a 24" standard contour Shilen barrel in .280 Nosler Ackley Improved!

Never did sell it. Ended up trading it for a Montana rifle in 280

 

[6mm Remington]

gtx how do you like that Montana Rifle so far? They make an excellent rifle in my opinion and I would be proud to own one. All made in Montana by the way! I wish I would have looked over here for that rifle. Don't know why I never even thought about it. I have a Ruger 1B in 6mm and 30-06 and would have loved to have one in 280 Remington.

Could you send me a picture of your Montana rifle??

I haven't fired it yet, not even sure I will keep it. Just thought I may have better luck selling it than the Ruger. It is a VERY nice rifle though. Well built, fit and finish are great................My 1B in 280 was near perfect, with a small scratch on pistol grip. Classic Weaver steel tube 4x12 scope and 100 rounds of ammo for 1K........no interest whatsoever in the classifieds. Kept the scope and ammo, just a rifle swap for the Montana
