I've never seen a broken hinge on a Ruger case

My mom uses a Ruger box on her nightstand to keep her pistol from getting dusty. She flips it shut during the day and slips it under her nightstand, then opens it again every night. If I recall correctly, she picked it up ~10yrs ago, so neglecting nights she's out of town for work or vacation, that's somewhere around 3,650 times she's opened and closed that box and it hasn't cracked yet.

If you keep Polypropylene out of sunlight, it'll last a really long time, and the "living hinge" is a relatively low stress design.
