Alright guys I am about to pick up my newly customized birdshead (trigger job, new grips, ejector rod, and cylinder pin). Now, I have just received my new .44 mag cylinder, that I am having bored out to 45 acp. I have yet to see a convertible birdshead (I am sure they are out there). I am very anxious to see what the pistol looks like now with the stainless on blue scheme I decided to go with. Will be posting pics soon.

I would be interested in seeing your scheme when completed. I'm working on a pair of birdsheads myself that will take on a different look. Had a problem with one that had to be returned to the factory and the grip maker is waiting on the new wood for the grips.

I like the look of a nice birdshead drip on a SA. I had my Montado swapped over to a BH gripframe, but no 45 auto cylinder; just 45 Colt.

Pics man! We need some gun porn!

Well I don't know what 02 is doing and this single six shooter gun is not complete regarding the pair I am making but it is a start to what I am doing. Guess I am 90 days to having everything together on how the pair will look.

Here's mine a .45 Colt that I added a .45 ACP cylinder to. Had to face off the cylinder a couple thousandths to make it fit right as well as replace the hand the gunsmith messed up trying to make it fit. With a new hand from Ruger and the help of a couple forum members I fixed it myself. Now both cylinders work perfect. Notice I had it engraved to say .45 ACP on the spare cylinder so I won't mix them up.

Well.....since this has turned into a Birdshead love fest! (and the OP hasn't checked back in...)

Here is my 45ACP Birdshead with a Power Customs Bisley Hammer and Blackhawk trigger kit installed.

Super light trigger pull, with very crisp break.

I'm in the process of doing this to a 357 mag. I acquired a blue 4 5'8's length Vaquero in 357 and am fitting a Bird's head grip to it. No sure if I will shorten the barrel. But either way, I reallly like the Birds Head grip on this frame.

I also have an old Birds Head blue Vaquero with 3 3/4" barrel in 45 LC that I fitted a 45 ACP cylinder to. It really shoots nice with the 45 ACP.
