Hi -

I'm still trying to get used to my LCR (not an easy gun to shoot for me). Today I tried some 158-grain HCL bullets in a modest load. They appeared to be key-holing on me. Is that too big a bullet to shoot in this gun? I read on Ruger's site that the barrel is a 1/16" twist, which I thought would be more than enough to stabilize a bullet that size.

Any input is welcome.

I had read of some bullets keyholing in the LCR. I use Missouri bullets 158 gr. LRN at a medium load and don't have keyholing. It's probably just a combination of velocity and bullet in your gun.

Hmm...I'm using Missouri's, too, though mine are flat point.

Anyway, I guess it's moot now, because I ran out, and plan to go to 125 grain JHP from now on. I was just trying to shoot some soft loads to get used to the snap.

Thanks, ASRuger.
