I just purchased a deluxe carbine with a serial number prefix of 111 and I looked it up on Ruger's website but it's too old. Does anyone have any idea when the 111 prefix rifles were made. This one had a pre-warning barrel and plastic butt plate.

111-95550 started in 1973

now if your sn# is lower than 111-16200 ,,, it would be a 1971.

when you go to the website and it's too old,,, keep reading down the page to the look up window, find what your looking for and it will pop up the old stuff start date# by year.

My first 10-22 has a serial # 95XX. My records show that I bought it 12/15/1964, which says it should be 1965 production. I'm pretty sure that I acquired it in 1964 because I started my first job in January of 1965 after graduating college. I don't remember much these days but I do remember that I couldn't take the rifle with me from Tennessee to Ohio because I didn't have a permanent place to live when I left my parents home.

I also remember it because I bought the Ruger with proceeds from selling a Remington Rand 1911 because I couldn't afford the .45ACP ammunition to shoot it. I've regretted not just putting the 1911 up and letting it appreciate in value.
