Adjust back sight on Ruger SR1911

Ok, i need to make a sight adjustment on my Ruger SR1911. According to the manual you loosen the allen screw and move the sight which ever way you want to go. Problem is, how in heck do you move the sight ? Darn thing acts like it is welded in place. I have hit it with a couple of things rather hard and it just does not move even a little.

What is the secret of moving the back sight on the Ruger ? Thanks for any help you can give.

Try a brass punch.

Nice, hefty brass punch. I just bumped mine over. It was printing a little Right. Guess that's better than Left,,,,,,,,,

So...why better than left?
I had to move my rear sight because it was printing left and I had a Hell of a time. 8)

It was a joke Joel. My SR 1911 moved after tapping. Have not shot it yet to see if I need more persuasion

You mean a Rim shot. Gotcha. In meantime,, I'm looking for an adjustable rear sight. Like to add a peep like I did on others.
