slide damage

OK, so there is apparent damage to the side. What does the part of the firearm (the flange of the recoil spring guide) that is hitting the spot on the slide look like? If what I am seeing is pushed in material of the slide, what is doing the pushing? Can you get a picture of that damage?

Something has to stick up proud of the recoil guide plate to cause damage like that.

Is it damage from the slide/spring guide or is it just a manufacturing flaw?

I have a rage gun from the first Ruger offered 1911 pistol I think over three years, our record showing was around 11,000 rounds went through and still running, sorry I have to change return spring twice and three or four magazines. It is wonderful 1911 Ruger made.
