I'd like to see a Scout in .243, and an LCRx in .357.

Dear Santa...please lean on Ruger's new product division. :D

Funny, I've been asking them to build it in 260 Rem since the day it came out. And make me my dang SR260 too. Tis the season for wishing....

I'm guessing the Scout will be limited to these 2 calibers, but I agree a .260 would be great. I'm aware of all the analysis, but am still surprised that cartridge didn't catch on at least to the level of the 7mm/08, since I consider it a more versatile round, assuming your not going after elk with either one.

I would like to see an 18 inch barrel option in 5.56. How does the 260 and 7mm/08 perform with a short barrel length?

Agreed. I waited to buy a GSR until they came out with the SS 308 version which sports a 18.70 barrel. I would like that same length in both the 5.56 and the 260. I like at least a 18" tube on the 260 and 7mm-08 and while you do lose some velocity they are still great performers out to 600. The high BC's help make up for the lost muzzle velocity and the recoil is very manageable too.

I would consider both the .243 and the 7mm-08 too. All 3 would also be perfect host for a little Ackley Improved treatment. Although I have never entertained the idea of Ackley improving the nato chambers, if I ended up with one of the other 3 I would consider it.

The 243 is not a bad idea. I have a Ruger M77 Tactical in 243. Love the rifle. Very accurate at 200 yards.
