If you are looking for a companion rifle in the same caliber, there are many fine lever rifles chambered in .357. My .357 shoots American Eagle 158 grain factory ammo at 1800 fps from a 20" barrel Henry. Yes, they are available in carbine length, and yes, that is chrony data, not manufacturer's data. And, yes, they are a whole lot of fun to shoot.
I would opt for .357, unless you are likely to encounter some really large, rough customers where you go. Then, I would probably be looking more at something like .44 mag. The idea of moon clips and an auto rim cartridge in a revolver would only appeal if I were to want something like 9mm that ammo is ubiquitous and cheap to shoot. Even then, I would not like the idea of fooling with the moon clips.
