How many is too many pistols ?

I try to eliminate as much negativity from my life as possible, such as people who say things like, "you have too many guns." I just don't need it.

Don't ever sell a gun you like in order to buy another gun. Save up until you can get the new one, and keep the old one. Never sell a gun you like unless it's a real necessity, as in you need the money to buy food.
I don't think there's anything wrong with owning a wide variety of different types of guns. I own every basic type of handgun (except single shot) and I enjoy them all. Don't own any Glocks, but I do own 3 striker fired pistols. They're nothing like fine art, but I can appreciate them for their functionality and reliability.
