The deal is somebody's trying to hit the lottery ...... maybe a little too emotionally attached to some of daddy's guns.

The RSS4X is somewhat rare and especially new in the box, if that is the case! The 6 1/2 in. Super is rare with only about 600 made but "BARGAINS", that may be the case in another 25 to 50 years. By then the price may catch up with his prices. With the money you would pay for those two guns you could get a factory engraved Single-Six. Which you wouldn't have to wait 25 to 50 years for the price to catch up.

Somebody is more than dreaming, their choo choo has gone off the track!

The .22 isn't even the scarce version, it's a later model with the XR3-RED grip frame! The scarce 4 5/8" barreled single sixes are the pre 1962 versions with XR3 grip frames.

The 'rare' .22s are the 4 5/8" Super Single Sixes (adj sights) from post 1963, 10 or 12 made, and I've not even seen one of those fetch $2750!

The seller is also confused and incorrect about the meaning of the "X". It indicates a convertible model with the extra mag cyl! All Rugers were boxed.

In general Arms list is at least 50% scammers who don't even own the gun they are selling. Then another 40% put ads up for nutso prices just because the listing is free.

I for one WISH they would sell for some real money. How many on this forum have daydreamed of acutally making money on the Rugers in our possession only to see those efforts blasted by the very folks who should be rooting for higher prices.

Look in the classifieds and what do you see? A scattering of Rugers, sure, but if you are looking for a good selection this is no longer the place to find em. Sad

Rugers will never reach the level of Colt and S&W until the Ruger Collectors cop to the fact the Old Models are worth as much, at least, as the new models. We are our own worst enemies.

As a shooter, I actually prefer an old model gun to the new model in 357, 41 and 44 mag. I've never picked one up that didn't shoot.
