I know that for most of my life I have been a 32 inch inseam but now I buy 30 inch. My understanding has always been crotch to bottom of pant leg.

I've had a good experience with the Weaver mount, been using it for decades.

Was it a dud or didn't fire at all? If the cylinder gets a little out of alignment they can hang up sometimes also.

When using a lead bullet with a crimp groove, the correct OAL is established when the bullet is seated such that the case mouth is located in the crimp groove. If the manual you are using does not show that OAL my first thought is that the manual does not include data for the bullet you are using.

Pin Gauges are cheap.

Those throats sound awfully small, how did you measure them? If they really are that small I would expect excess pressure and maybe sticky extraction.

I have more cases than I know what to do with, but, when I needed to send a SxS shotgun to a gunsmith I bought a cheap case from Amazon (cheapest POS case you'll ever see) that was perfect. Do I need the case, no, but I'll keep it because I know that someday I will need to ship another one...

I would take the box the new case came in and cut it down to fit snugly as a shipper.

Handgun caliber sets used to be 3 die sets back in the day. Now people have a preference to crimp separately from seating, hence the fourth die.
