I'm glad I am Archery hunting again. $125.40 for 8 ounces of Black Powder equivalent!!!

That's kinda pricey. I just checked Midway, same price there. Pyrodex is $26 per pound, Goex BP is $27 per pound & Triple Seven is only $36 a pound.

At $178 a pound is Blackhorn that much better?

I have GOEX and Scheutzen black powder, real black powder, not a substitute. FFFg at about $30/lb earlier this year.

Haven't checked prices lately.

I've always used Pyrodex P, for pistol AND rifle. In soggy, humid Florida hunt conditions the P powder ignites better than the rifle powder and it's cleaner than BP.

Think I am going to go get a 2nd mortgage on my house so I can buy 2. That would be a whole lb.

GOEX is now made by Estes Energetics. Apparently getting the product to distributors is going slowly.
As a BAR (born again rocketeer), I wondered if Estes Industries, the company that defined model rocketry, was connected to Estes Energetics.

From Defense Daily, 06/24/2021, "Hobby rocket engine and model company Estes Industries has launched a spin-out company Estes Energetics that aims to be an agile developer and supplier of low-cost solid rocket motors for munitions makers and the small space launch industry."

i was thinking the same thing!

I am not as old as some here but getting there.. fondly remember Goex at $5/lbs and being available at every gunshop..cut my teeth on a T/C Hawken kit rifle that I saved up hay bailing money to buy, and completed in my basement after school and football practice in the fall right before deer season.
