Does anyone make a 'skinnier' grip for the Single Six. I have heard them called 'gunfighter or gunslinger' grips but have never seen them.

The single ten has gunfighter (thin) grips, I might try a set on my single six too. I think a bunch of aftermarket grips come in that style also.

I have considered swapping the grip frames on my stainless .44 Special flat top and my SS .22 Single Six Convertable. I suppose a mike reading at the frame/grip frame junction would give me a good indication if it will work to my satisfaction. I would prefer not to have to file either cylinder frame. jack
Altamont grips makes a very nice, thin,smooth OR checkered and fairly priced......................

Check out "outlawgrips.com" I have a set of his on a Montado and they are very thin for competition. I don't really like them that thin although they feel really good and you can get to the hammer a lot faster. He makes a set just under the thickness of the standard grips that look about right.He has pics on his site.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I decided to make a set of my own and see what works and doesn't work for me. Will post some photos once they are finished and installed.

My 22 SS was a 1974 vintage and 44 FT is 2010 plus I have blue guns so the 22 had an alloy grip frame. So I just found a current steel NXR3-RED grip frame for the FT and it went right on. The steel XR3 from the FT for the 22 had to have the ears trimmed and I ditched the lock in the XR3.
The XR3 grip frames are narrower so I didn't have to then the grips, they felt right on the narrower grip frame. And I had thinned the grips that were on the 22 already so used those on the FT.
