I’d like to sell this Winchester 1895 High Grade chambered in .30-06. These were made in the late 1990’s, and I believe the high grade was limited to 4,000 guns.
I bought this one new (at a time when I couldn't really afford it), after becoming obsessed with the history (Teddy Roosevelt) and design (box magazine lever gun). I fired a box of Remington soft points through it, carefully cleaned it, and put it away for over 20 years. It was in a gun sock in the back of my safe, so no dings.
These were made by Miroku, and I always thought they were exceptionally well done. The engraving is machine of course, but tasteful. The lines of the receiver on these (box magazine and scalloped sides) are unique, and oh so cool. The stock is glossy dark walnut with great depth and color.
Box and original plastic bag included, box is in good shape but shows some edge wear. The manual is currently missing, so not included, but if it ever shows up I will happily send it to the buyer.
Sorry about the glare - I couldn't wait any longer for good weather and good light, so these pictures were taken indoors. I can take more if someone is interested, just shoot me a PM.
This is easily the nicest rifle I own, but I’m not a Winchester collector, and can’t bring myself to turn it into a “shooter”, so it should go to someone who will appreciate it more. I’ll post it on the Winchester forum if it doesn’t sell here.
I’m asking $2,095.00 (NOW $1,945.00) shipped and insured, my FFL to your FFL. Personal check or USPS money order, please (will ship when check clears). The only trade I might consider at this time would be for a high-condition 7.5” .357 Maximum (plus cash).
Thank you for looking. This is my first WTS post here (though I've done my share of buying) – let me know if I left anything out.
