I may be interested in this one, but you'll have to tell me what "won't letter with Ruger" means. Did it NOT leave the factory as a 10" bbl, or do they just not have records on this particular gun? Please excuse my ignorance...just been wanting one of these for a while and thought I'd better ask first. Thanks!

I called Ruger and was told this gun, according to their records was shipped with a 6 1/2 barrel. I have had the gun for a while and its just the way I got it. Makes a great shooter.............thanks Neil

I am far from an expert but thought INC was stamped on the later guns. I looked at several other flattop 357's and 44's and none have the Ruger trademark in the circle. I don't know the history of this gun but its a nice long barreled shooter.
There were no ten inch barrels after the "initial" runs: I-six groove, II-eight groove barrels, for the 357 Flattops, and they would not have had this circle symbol and the INC markings. Technically, I'd expect this barrel to be an eight groove, based upon the serial nuimber of the gun, all things being equal. However, as the gun does not letter as a ten inch, this barrel could have come from any time frame.........So?
....so, it is a "sum of the total of the parts..........." and at $800 ( if that includes the shipping, transfer...) would be a MORE than "fair" price for someone who wants an';old model' shooter, with a LONG barrel...cost a LOT more than that today to get one "madeup"....just MY .02 cents

you guys are probably right, will look at reasonable offers.
To make at least one "thing" clear, here. My comment was not a focus on value, offering price or the like. If i did not already have a couple of shooters, one from Tucsonite and the other, from My Good and Old Friend, Murphy in Tucson, I would be trying to figure out how to wedge it in to the stuff I have already bought from you 
Ten inch guns are tough enough, let alone shooters. And, my recall says we have had very few offered here across the past five years. I am in agreement with my Friend and co-conspirator, Mr. RugerGuy, respective of the sum of parts, getting one built, and/or the joy of shooting these over the bags or cross-sticks.....MIKE :wink:

the early supers were 44's. If someone can figure out where this barrel came from, I would like to know.......the gun is now on gunbroker, no reserve starting bid 1 cent...
Listing number on GB would be a great assist......

I guess we will never know. One thing that we do know. No 10 in. 357 Flattop that will letter, ever had a barrel that was stamped like that.

Is it possible the barrel could be from a maxi gun switched to the mag. I am not sure if that will work or if the bore diameter is the same just trying to give ideas.
