9mm cylinder for a Ruger new model Blackhawk. Don't have to be in great shape. A little rust on the outside won't hurt. In other words, Cheap!! :lol:

Thanks to all who replied but I called Ruger and they said a cylinder would have to be fitted and they won't do it because the gun left the factory as a 357 only. I think I will give up on that idea. I have a couple of thousand round of steel case ammo and was looking for a cheap way of shooting it up. I will look for another way.

"Fitting" is a simple matter if you can find a cylinder with the same dimensions as the one in your 357. There are a couple of measurements such as overall length you can do and post them online. I'd be willing to be you can find a cylinder to "fit" before dark on here.

If all the messurements are correct a local smith should be able to do it for less than $50. I had the same done last year as a way to use up several thound rounds of 9mm and 38 spl we need to get ride of but disposal cost were too high.

Yes, the 'trick; is finding a cylinder close enough in size to the one that is currently in your gun NOW, just need the overall length of YOUR cylinder...............
are there any GOOD gunsmiths in your area?? ask them

I'm surprised that Ruger would say that as we know quite a few folks who shipped in their "new models" and got the 'spare' 9mm cylinder fitted, after all that is the way to go , but yes, it will be costly, shipping parts ,labor and all'...last one we heard cost the guy arond $168 TOTAL , there and back.

Ruger said if the gun had been shipped as a 357/9mm they would do it but will NOT install a 9mm cylinder gun that was shipped as a 357 only. May still give it a try. Have to think about it for a while.
