Anyone have short 45-70's they want to sell. I bought a box of hornady FTX bullets to load in my 45-70 but forgot the case trim length is 2.00 for that bullet. If anyone has brass from Hornady Lever Evolution ammo they will work. I don't want to trim any of my new brass for them. Would like to get 50. Thanks.

Woody,
Are you using these in a Marlin or a Ruger No1? If in a No1, you can use regular length brass. I called Hornady on this and that is what I used. I had a few loads left when I sold my No1, and sure enough they would not work in my Guide Gun.

I have some FTX brass. I will have to count and get back with you. Fom

A Wilson with the 45-70 case holder (new or fired) or a Sinclair- Forster case trimmer will solve your problem. New or used, both are handy to have if you reload. If you have lots to trim, get the power adapter and use a battery drill or screwdriver to ease and speed up the process.

I think I have a box or two around the bench, before I knew better they got mixed in with the others... They are yours if I find them. These were from Hornady factory loads with the gummy tipped bullets. I'll shoot you a PM when I find them.

I have a nice power trimmer. I was trying to not have to trim my current cases. I could use some more brass anyways and thought I would get some for these bullets and use them just for that.
