John Boy, if you're looking for a factory original from that year to fit precisely on yours, good luck.
99 out of 100 times you are going to have to reshape and refinish the wood.
I went through this on my 1956 Mountie 39a.
I bought 4 from either ebay or gunbroker and even purchased a complete stock with butt-plate attached as a last resort.
All the plates were undersized or oddly shaped compared to the original (would not fit without considerable wood shaping), and the completestock I purchased was 2 or 3 shades lighter in color which means I would have had to refinish both the stock and forearm for a match.
In the end I ordered a new butt plate from Marlin (newer style) and fit it to my stock. Looks like it was factory installed.
