A lot of folks here, myself included, have gone full circle with the Ruger grip frame saga and I think the Revolver section may have a dedicated sticky thread for it. I have owned or still own the standard Blackhawk Bisley and the Super Blackhawk Bisley Ruger revolvers, and yes, they are the same grip frame as far as the actual grip is concerned. The only difference you may see will be with the rear of the trigger guard. (The SBH is rounded and the regular SB is square.). The thing I wish I knew years ago before selling a nice custom Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley is that I did not experiment with thicker grips that don’t have a bevel on the bottom edge. The factory Ruger grips are made for smaller hands and are thin and beveled at the bottom (making it hard to get all fingers on it). If you get some thicker non-beveled grips, you’ll get your whole hand on it AND it will reposition your knuckles and keep them away from the back of the trigger guard during recoil. The cool thing is that when you also use thicker grips on the standard dragon grip frame, it’ll suddenly become more comfortable to shoot, too. This is “part” of the reason ugly rubber grips are more comfortable is because they fill your hand more and prevent the knuckle-busting. But to get back to your concern, the Bisley “grip” used on the Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk is the same. I just wish Ruger’s quality control was tight enough to make custom grips 100% interchangeable between guns.
