WTB Compact Hunting Scope !

I'm looking for a "compact" hunting scope for a short rifle. Typically a 9" length, classic type optic. The 11.5-13" models are just too goofy & unwieldy on a compact gun.
I've seen some in the $250-300+ retail range but hoping to save some money with the good folks here...

2-7 or fixed 4x or 6x is what I want.
Reticle-type only, no electronics.
Blued glossy or matte is ok.

Any brand will be considered as long as it's not a china-mart model.
Not interested in a "tactical" play-soldier scope, or rubber-covered model.

Must pass the soak & freeze test - please no damaged optics or dregs.

Check out the Weaver V3 Classic. It's a 1-3x20 and is short and light. I have one on a Marlin 1894c and love it. I just ordered a second one for $159.00 shipped off of Amazon. BG

I have two scopes that might interest you; a 2-7x33 Leupold Rifleman and a 4X Redfield Wideview. Have original boxes for both, scopes both excellent+ with perfect optics. $150/shipped for Rifleman and $110/shipped for Redfield. $250 for both/shipped.

Try here; they have 3, one in particular, i am thinking, that may work for/interest you...all under 10" in length...tho i dunno, they may be too "tactical" for your purposes. Say they are USA nade...

No i don't have any experience with them, sorry....but seriously thinnking of trying one on my Liberty Training Rifle build.

How about a fixed four power Burris MADE IN USA? The scope itself is 8 1/2" long, is is the shiny finish and has been mounted on a couple of rifles over the years but not really used much. I don't think this model is made anymore. I have two of them and have sold off almost all my rifles. I am going to put one on a Ruger 77/357 I picked up last year, and that along with a couple of 22 rimfires is all the rifle I am going to own.

$150 shipped.
