I am looking for an AR556 stripped upper for a build. If any one has one to part with please let me know. Just let me know how much shipped and if possible provide a pic and we will see what we can work out. I had contacted Ruger a while back about buying one and they said they don't offer them wish they would hurry up and get onboard with everyone else oh well in time I guess. Thanks for the help
 
Just out of curiosity, how would you be able to tell it was from Ruger?

Those AR556 carbines I've looked at had no Ruger markings on the upper receiver.
 
I wondered if Ruger uppers had their logo, if not........

Generally only a few makers of uppers. Most forgers have their own mark forged in. One popular one is a keyhole symbol. Say for instance that Ruger used that one, a bare upper with the keyhole mark(cerro forge)could be obtained.

Off coloring is an issue but..... the aluminum lower is something that doesn't get oiled much, if at all. They get dry & more grayish in appearance. I've found that lubing both components or one more than the other can help match them.

I was going to mention the Knob Creek machinegun shoot for hands on searching of parts, but seems it was ... yesterday.
October is the next one. About a blue million AR parts at the National Gun Day shows also.

I got a PSA stripped lower that didn't match any upper I paired with it. Was way off colored. A can of Rusteolum flat black engine enamel cured that issue.
 
I think the Ruger logo is stamped just behind the rail on the upper. The color match was one of my things also that I was trying to fix. Thanks for all the help
