WTB, 9mm SP101 Cylinder

Keep in mind that all the SP101 frames aren't alike. If you don't fit the 9mm cylinder to a old small frame 38 special or a 125 grain only 357, it will be way too short for the newer large frame guns. Finding a 9mm SP101 cylinder is like finding a cold Bud in the middle of the Sahara

Flash, Thanks for the heads up on the different length cylinders. Maybe I will get lucky and find a 9mm for sale, some day......

Jack, Thanks, I will contact them in the morning. I see they custom make full moon clips and they may be thicker and head space better than the factory ones. It is worth the call anyway.

As far as we know at this time, ALL 9mm SP-101s are short frame guns. Therefore, a homeless 9mm cylinder should fit a 9mm gun (as a replacement for a damaged 9mm cylinder) with no problems.

Still think the stiffer, thicker moon clips are the least expensive, first solution. If that doesn't work, well, then.....

Just a thought, but if you are going to use moon clips, couldn't you load 9mm into a .357 cylinder (machined for moon clips) and headspace off the extractor groove?

Sadly no the rear of the cylinder is to close to the recoil shield it will not head space correctly and would have to be machined shorter and rechambered for 9mm.
