Just FYI
Unless you're gonna' rethread it, the old model will need the 20 TPI barrel thread. Depending on the vintage of your new model, it could need the 20 TPI or 24 TPI.
Do you plan to trade the original barrels? If so which lengths do your have and which year is the new model barrel?

Jim, thanks for the post.
Ideally, I'd like to swap the 5.5" barrel of my mid 80's vintage NM.
(I'd list the serial # but don't have the gun handy at the moment)
The OM is a tack driving 6.5" which I should probably leave alone...
