Folks,
I'm hoping to find a couple of bullet molds for the 500 Linebaugh. Weights of 350 and 440 would be ideal and double or four cavity preferred.
Thanks,
Russ

Here's some above. They are great molds. Getting down to 350 grain is going to be much harder.

You can get a brass mold here:

Open the PDF file and it's at the top of the list. Send Mihec a PM with you email adress, and he will send an invoice for payment. I also have a group buy going for a gas check mold of the same design.

There are other choices such a ordering from Ballisticast, I have their fine 435 grain mold, but the top two places have molds ready to ship.

PM me if I can assist further, or the links don't work. I posted this from my phone.

Best,

Frank

The Mihec molds are as good as it gets. I have the plainbase and am on the group buy for the gas checked. You will be hard pressed to do better.

The links and suggestions are great. I've been using one of the Mihec molds in a four cavity 270 SAA solid point and it's a work of art. How are those hollow point molds to cast with? I would really prefer a 4 or 6 cavity in a solid point and solid base but realize the choices are going to be a little more limited with the less popular calibers. I don't mind shooting the HP bullets, but I'm new at this casting business and just don't really want a lot of hassle while I'm still figuring things out.

Awesome. This place always comes up with the good info!

Thanks for all the help.

Russ,

The Mihec HP molds come with reversible pins to make flat points, or an extra set of flat pins. The HPs are not that hard to cast with.

One of the molds at the NOE site is a 4 cav 450 PB-$96

Sounds like maybe Robb can help you out as well.

I think maybe RCBS makes a lighter grain mold, but don't remember for sure.

Now, a SIX cavity 500 Linebaugh mold..... That may be something we all need to talk about! But, really, I'm picky about my slugs for my 500, so I'm not sure I'd want a 6 cavity for real.

Folks,
Thanks again for all the pointers and suggestions. I've got a couple on the way and will post a note of my impressions when they show up.
