The other day the family and I were out at one of the local spots where the wildlife tends to congregate. I spotted a few ducks and some other birds including an Osprey (fish hawk) and her chicks a long way off at the top of a tree on a small island.

This is the island where the Osprey nest was, it's at the top of the third tree from the right. This was as close as I could get.

I'm hoping to go back to the same place tomorrow, and this time I'm bring my tripod for my camera.

During my career with the U.S. Forest Service, I worked on a Ranger District outside of Flagstaff, Az for over 25 years, and we had habitat, lakes, for both Ospreys and Bald Eagles. Worked with the State Game and Fish on building nesting platforms for both species, to encourage the migrating birds to stay around and nest, which surprisingly, they actually did, but having a natural nest like your picture is pretty neat, great to see pics like that.
