I'm after a smiths 29-2 with 8.3/8 barrel dirty harry model where in the states am i not looking
It must be in top condition perfer one in a display case
Missed out one one last week at gun international
appears not a great deal of these for sale
any advise

Ok, I might be wrong, but FWIW, I thought Dirty Harry's Model 29 was 6.5" barrel model.

RP. You are right. He used the long barreled one in the last movie I believe. That is the information that I have anyway. I will keep my eyes out for you BOB. I had a guy approach me trying to sell an 8 3/8th model 29-2. I will have to see if I can find him at the gun show this weekend, since he has been carrying it around. I forgot what he was asking though, so will have to fine out and then pass it on to you provided I can find him again and he has not sold it. I believe both 6.5" and 8-3/8" were used in the Dirty Harry movie(s). Eastwood generally used the 6.5" model 29, but for effect they switched to the 8-3/8" barrel.
