Where did all the 9622's go?

I have been looking for a 9622 in .22LR on and off as funds permitted.

When I wasn't looking hard I saw reasonable priced ones here and there but mainly in .22 Mag and the 17's.

I'm looking for a 9622 shooter in .22LR.

Thinking that with all the different firearms Ruger has been bring out maybe they will bring the lever back out.

The 96/22 in 22lr was made for a very short time frame. Never many around. As nice of a gun as they were the 10/22 which was cheaper than the 96 when both were being produced was the 96's undoing. Not traditional enough for the lever action crown and for those that wanted a shooter why buy a 10/22 with a lever on it.

The 96/22mag and 96/17 filled a niche but not a very profitable one. There seemed to be a good number sitting around after they were discontinued. Seems like that supply is finally drying up. I got a 22lr new in box. Always intended to get a 22mag and a 17. Never did. Now I am kicking around the idea of selling the 22lr or hold out and eventually completing the set. Don't know what to do.

As for Ruger bringing them back I doubt it. We would be more likely to see a traditional design lever I think. Winchester 94s are basically no more and Marlin went to hell. The market is ready for a well built american made fairly priced traditional lever. Suprised we have not seen a SR94 yet.

With the popularity of .22 suppressors exploding, I am inclined to think that Ruger could sell a bunch of them today if they came threaded correctly for a can.

With the explosion in popularity of .22 suppressors over the past couple years, I believe a 96/22 lever action rifle, properly threaded for a can (1/2" x28 x.400" long) would be a very popular selling rifle. The "mid-weight" barrel from the 10/22 LVT and iron sights please.

Had a Henry for a short time.Some kind of paint on the receiver,plastic barrel band.They are everywhere.
Lucked out and found a 99% Winchester 9422.
That one is a keeper,well known gunshop owner told me I 'really did something good" buying it.The Ruger levers seemed lacking too.

I wanted one as a cheaper alternative to the PWS toggle action for a 10/22ish locked action gun. I think I'll stick to toggle and let the collectors have the lever action Rugers.

Its not like I need one, I have three 9422's.
A Beater .22lr, a Trapper .22lr and a Legacy .22WMR, just always want the Ruger 9622.
But not willing to spend that much.
